Is a Harder Blade Tip More Durable? Hung-Shuh Tell You Choose Right

Share:

Q: Is a harder blade tip always more durable? Does that mean I should just choose the hardest one?

A: When it comes to durability, edge hardness will take majority of responsibility.

but (base on our extensive tests) If the tip of the blade is very hard but the body is soft, after a high number of pressure cuts,
the blade tip will still quickly dull. This is because, although the tip is hard, the lack of sufficient hardness in the body below it fails
to provide the necessary support.
Also, if we use hardest edge and body, it will lose all bendability. That’s why we always guild our client,
follow these basic rules.
1. What is the maximin angle you will need to bend the rule and what is your smallest R angle you need!
2. What material you are cutting?
3. Sharewith me the information in above, I will suggest what specs should suit youbest.
Thedurability of a cutting blade is not determined solely by its"hardness," but rather by achieving a balance between bending angle, hardness, thickness, and the actual processing conditions.
